Register for a BCIR / CCIM Class at the Oklahoma City Professional Forum.
Our active members have asked for it! We are proud to announce that IAMC is now offering professional development coursework in conjunction with our Professional Forums!
Register today for CCIM’s "Lease vs. Own Analysis Using Excel-Based Tools" on Saturday before the Oklahoma City Professional Forum
Through its BCIR affiliate, IAMC Professional Forum attendees can now participate in coursework offered by the CCIM Institute, the preeminent source of technical, financial and investment training classes for real estate professionals.
CCIM’s "Lease vs. Own Analysis Using Excel-Based Tools" will be held on Saturday, September 13, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Skirvin Hilton in Oklahoma City. Lunch is included.
The class’ objectives are:
- Recognize the critical factors, financial and nonfinancial, influencing the lease-versus-own decision.
- Interpret present values (PVs) of the cost of leasing versus the cost of owning.
- Calculate and interpret the yield (internal rate of return) of the differential cash flows after tax from leasing versus owning.
- Understand the importance of the sales price point-of-indifference between the leasing and owning alternatives.
You could choose to learn the principles taught in this class on the job, from books, CDs or online. But the best and most effective way is to take a class is with your IAMC peers from an experienced and professional instructor who is an expert in real estate finance and investment analysis. You’ll learn the best techniques for solving the lease vs. buy problem. You’ll hear how some get it wrong and how to avoid the pitfalls. You’ll be able to ask questions of the instructor and your colleagues. You will also earn ¼ credit toward the CCIM elective requirement.
Jim Rosen, CCIM, will lead the class. He is vice president and director of leasing for Pace Properties of St. Louis, Missouri. Jim was selected CCIM’s “CI 101 Senior Instructor” of the year for 2002, and received the “People's Choice Award” (for the instructor with the highest student ratings) in 2004 and 2005. In addition, he was the Course Chairman for CI-103 in 2004 and is the 2005 Course Chairman for CI-101.
Register by August 15 and pay only $370 for the course; after that date you pay $400. Sign up for this class by checking the appropriate boxes on the Professional Forum registration form.
